Spring Flowers May Prove Harmful to Kitchen Surfaces

Your granite countertop is amazingly strong and fabulously durable. And with the proper care it will last a lifetime and look great all the while. To prevent against stains there are several things you should consider. First, you should consider having your countertop professionally sealed.  AAA Hellenic Marble recommends Granite Shield. Feel free to ask one of our folks about this great product. Second, you should keep up with polishing your countertop. Be sure to clean your top thoroughly beforehand. There are several trusted granite top polishes on the market. Follow the directions for a clean, shiny and protected top.

This time of year, you may want to watch for pollen especially on lighter colored granite surfaces. Flowers such as lilies can drop pollen on countertops and their red or yellow pollen may stain if left over time. The likelihood of staining increases with the time of exposure, so as with all stains, wipe up messes as quickly as possible.
